In this workshop, you will gain a better understanding on the steps involved in modernizing legacy on-premises applications and infrastructure by leveraging cloud services, while adding a mix of web and mobile services, all secured using Azure Active Directory.

Audience Profile

This workshop is intended for Cloud Architects and IT professionals who have architectural expertise of infrastructure and solutions design in cloud technologies and want to learn more about Azure and Azure services as described in the “Summary” and “Skills gained” areas. Those attending this workshop should also be experienced in other non-Microsoft cloud technologies, meet the course prerequisites, and want to cross-train on Azure.

Module 1: Whiteboard Design Session - App modernization

Module Overview

In this module, you work with a group to analyze and design a solution for moving legacy on-premises applications and infrastructure to cloud services. As part of the modernization effort, you will discuss modern concepts such as Serverless. At the end of this module, your ability to design and implement a modernization plan for organizations looking to move services from on-premises to the cloud will be improved.

Module 2: Hands-on Lab - App modernization

Module Overview

In this module, you implement the steps to modernize a legacy on-premises application, including upgrading and migrating the application and the database to Azure and updating the application to take advantage of serverless and cloud services. At the end of this module, your ability to build solutions for modernizing legacy on-premises applications and infrastructure using cloud services will be improved.
